ART AUSTRIA 2026: Mario Dilitz at Palais Auersperg, Vienna

At ART AUSTRIA 2026, Mario Dilitz presents two carved wood sculptures in the historic setting of Palais Auersperg in Vienna. Measuring 94 cm in height, the works continue Dilitz’s exploration of the human figure through precise carving, restrained expression, and material presence.

The sculptures are carved in wood, with the grain, surface, and structure of the material remaining visibly integral to the work. Their scale creates an intimate physical encounter, while their stillness leaves the figures open to individual interpretation.

Presented within the context of ART AUSTRIA, a fair dedicated to Austrian art, the works are shown among a broad spectrum of modern and contemporary positions throughout the Palais.
